We are a friendly, hands-on business passionate about birds, animals and providing a great experience for our customers. Our team works directly with our animals and birds while also helping customers with their questions, purchases and general needs.

Working with us is varied and practical. No two days are necessarily the same, and the role is suited to someone who enjoys being around animals, working with people and getting stuck in with whatever needs to be done.

We’re Looking For a Motivated Individual

We are currently looking for a motivated and reliable person to join our team in a casual Bird Keeper / Sales Assistant role.

This is a hands-on position and would suit someone who is comfortable working around animals and birds, enjoys dealing with people and is happy to take responsibility for getting the job done.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be comfortable and confident working with animals and birds
  • Be reliable, responsible and have a good work ethic
  • Be self-motivated and able to work without needing constant supervision
  • Have good common sense and be able to think for themselves
  • Be friendly and comfortable interacting with customers
  • Be willing to learn and take direction when required
  • Be available to work weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Be able to provide references
  • Be prepared for a hands-on role involving both animal care and customer service

What the role involves

The role will include a mixture of:

  • Caring for and looking after our birds and animals
  • Cleaning and maintaining animal areas
  • Feeding and general animal care
  • Assisting customers
  • Sales and general shop duties
  • Keeping the workplace clean, tidy and presentable
  • Helping with other day-to-day tasks as required

This is a casual position, however, there may be an opportunity for the right person to progress into a part-time position in the future.
